I am a graduate student in graphic design based in Chicago. This is a collection of my work—a reflection of where I am and what I am learning. Through projects and creative experiments, I am understanding my approach to work and expanding my visual vocabulary with materials and tools both digital and physical. I am drawn to the ways we express, the ways we share, the quiet questions in between. What do you see? How do you understand?
What does the lake look like today? In collaboration with a partner, we used wave and weather data from Open-meteo's marine and historical weather APIs to generate daily pictures of Lake Michigan. Wave swell and height variables changed the shape and number of the lines. Daily temperature highs and lows defined the background gradient, its colors picked from an actual photo of the lake. Each picture is a unique capture of the lake’s daily conditions. A book was printed compiling thirty pictures, one for each day of September 2024.
